War Damn Eagle!!!!

Our new State of Georgia license plates arrived this weekend. As you can see, Georgia has added Auburn University license plates. I think it is the best thing the state of Georgia has done since adding the education lottery. War Damn Eagle!!!!

This is cool!

But let me get this straight...

I assume that the state of Georgia cannot use the Auburn logo without paying some sort of licensing fee, right?

And Auburn is a public school in the state of Alabama.

So the state of Georgia is paying the state of Alabama for rights to use the logo of an Alabama public university on its state-issued GEORGIA license plates?

And ostensibly, some portion of that licensing fee that the state of Alabama collects goes to support its institutions of public higher education?

So if I connect all the dots correctly, Georgia taxpayers (or at least those who are Auburn alumni and fans) are helping finance public education in the state of Alabama?

If this is all correct, somebody needs to write this up in the AJC. What is in the Kool-Aid down there at the Golden Dome?
